Same summary

The Ubiquiti UniFi Video UNVR recorder and kit is intended primarily for users who want to upgrade or expand their existing video surveillance at home, at the weekend or on a larger area, where stability of operation and the ability to archive a larger amount of footage are important. Due to the standalone recorder, the product is particularly suitable for those who already have an established camera solution and are looking for an advanced recording unit with support for various RAID modes, 10Gb connectivity and reliable operation even in the event of possible power outages. It is less suitable for complete beginners without any equipment, as it does not include additional cameras or a starter kit. It is also important to check the compatibility of the recorder with existing cameras in the system.

Answers to frequently asked questions

Is the UNVR recorder compatible with all UniFi cameras?

Most UniFi cameras are compatible with the UNVR recorder, but we recommend checking the list of supported models on the manufacturer's official website if you are using older or special cameras.

How long can I keep recordings on this recorder?

The duration of recording storage depends on the number and quality of cameras and the capacity of the installed disks - with maximum space utilization (up to 4x8TB), it is possible to archive for a longer period of time, but for accurate data, we recommend a preliminary description of your needs.

Is it possible to access the recordings via the mobile app?

Yes, UNVR allows remote access and management of recordings via the UniFi Protect mobile app, making it easy to monitor what's happening when you're away.

What does redundant power supply mean on this model?

Redundant power supply means that the recorder supports multiple power sources, reducing the chance of losing recordings in the event of a failure or failure of one power supply.

Who is this recorder less suitable for?

The UNVR recorder is less suitable for users who do not yet have any cameras or need a complete starter kit; in this case, it makes more sense to choose a video surveillance kit with included cameras.
