Monitor AOC Agon 24G4ZR 23.8"
The monitor is designed for gamers, home users, and those looking for an efficient solution for multitasking or working with documents in a limited space.
- A high refresh rate allows for smooth display of fast movements and less image blurring.
- The IPS panel offers wide viewing angles and clear colors for reliable content display.
- The pivot function makes it easier to work with long documents and program in vertical mode.
- The compact size is suitable for smaller desks or multi-monitor setups.
The AOC 24G4ZR is a 23.8-inch gaming monitor designed primarily for competitive gamers, where speed, responsiveness, and smooth motion are more important than high resolution. It is equipped with a Fast IPS panel with Full HD (1920 × 1080) resolution , which reaches 240 Hz at its native frequency and 260 Hz when overclocked. The response time is 1 ms GtG or 0.3 ms MPRT , so the monitor ensures very sharp display of fast movements and minimal image blurring.
Adaptive-Sync with NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible ensures smooth display, reducing screen tearing and stuttering at variable frame rates. Low Input Lag further reduces the delay between command and display on the screen, while HDR10 improves the display of bright and dark areas of the image. The Fast IPS panel also offers wide viewing angles of 178°/178° and 300 cd/m² brightness.
The monitor is designed with eSports in mind. The three-sided, almost borderless chassis allows for a minimalist look and is also suitable for multi-monitor setups. Of particular interest is the ergonomic stand, which allows 130 mm of height adjustment, tilt, swivel and pivot , and its compact base leaves more space for the keyboard and mouse. Compatibility with VESA 100 × 100 mm mounts is also available.

It is important to know
Before purchasing the AOC Agon 24G4ZR monitor, it's worth considering what your main experience is and what compromises result from choosing this size, resolution, and refresh rate. The biggest influences are the planned setup (one or two monitors), the method of connection to the computer, and the balance between image sharpness and performance for gaming or fast work.
- The 23.8-inch Full HD display offers optimal sharpness for its size, but it won't provide a significantly larger workspace for extended office work; for multiple open windows, a setup with two monitors of the same diagonal is recommended.
- The high refresh rate (260 Hz) and 1 ms response time are strong points for fast gaming, but gaming performance is not an advantage for general office use or static content.
- The IPS panel offers good viewing angles and color stability, which is an advantage for multi-user environments or where the angle of view of the screen changes frequently.
- The connections and compatibility of the graphics card or laptop (e.g. DisplayPort for high frequencies) should be carefully checked in advance; with an unsuitable cable or older outputs, you will not be able to take advantage of all the features of the monitor.
- The pivot function allows you to place the screen in portrait orientation and is particularly useful for working with documents or programming, but is not necessary for all users.

In practice
🟢 Gaming (fast games)
Extremely suitable due to its high refresh rate (260 Hz) and short response time; provides a smooth experience in competitive games.
🟢 Setting up two identical monitors for multitasking
A great option when working with multiple windows or applications; two monitors of the same diagonal and resolution provide a unified user interface and good ergonomics.
🟡 General office use (editorial, spreadsheets)
Suitable with limitations - for basic office tasks, the image sharpness is satisfactory, but for more demanding work with more data or editing long documents, it may limit the amount of information visible at once.
🟢 Working with a laptop - expanding the work surface
The monitor is suitable as a secondary display in conjunction with a laptop, provided that your laptop has the appropriate outputs for the desired refresh rate and resolution.
🟡 Creative work (design, photo editing)
Suitable with limitations – the IPS matrix provides solid color consistency for basic work, but the Full HD resolution limits display detail compared to higher-end models.
🟢 Vertical layout – Pivot function
Pivot adds useful value for programmers or anyone who frequently works with long documents or lists of data.
Answers to frequently asked questions
Is the monitor suitable for setting up two identical screens for multitasking?
Yes, due to the same diagonal and resolution, this model is very suitable for use in pairs, where both screens provide a unified user experience.
Which connectors should I choose to achieve the highest refresh rate?
To take advantage of the 260 Hz refresh rate, it is recommended to use a DisplayPort connector; also check that your graphics card and cable support this feature.
How convenient is the pivot function in practice?
Pivot allows you to rotate the screen to a portrait position, which is useful when programming, reviewing long documents, or lists.
Does an IPS matrix mean a better picture for everyday use?
IPS allows for better viewing angles and more stable colors, which is an advantage when there are a large number of users or when the viewing angle changes frequently.
Is the monitor detailed enough for graphic design?
It is suitable for basic graphics use, but the Full HD resolution on this diagonal limits accuracy compared to higher resolutions.
