It is important to know

Before purchasing a Leitz folder with a flap and elastic, it is crucial to understand how the design and closure method translate into practical use, especially for business documents. An important decision is whether you need quick access or consistent protection of the contents during transport and storage.

• Closing with an elastic band significantly reduces the chance of losing or damaging documents, but means slightly slower access compared to open folders.
• The sturdier construction and clamshell design allow for frequent portability between meetings or locations, while also offering a better appearance for formal use and presentations.
• In everyday office use, a color system is useful for visually classifying different projects or departments, but choosing by color alone does not cover all organizational needs.

In practice

🟢 Archiving and document protection

Very convenient - the elastic closure and flap allow for safe storage of documents in drawers or cabinets, without the risk of creasing or falling out.

🟢 Transfer to meetings or field

Very convenient - the robust design and closure prevent loss of sheets, which is an advantage when carrying documentation frequently.

🟡 Fast browsing or frequent content updating

Suitable with limitations – the elastic and flap slightly slow down immediate access to individual documents, so it is not the fastest solution for frequently changing content.

🟡 Use for visual sorting by color

Suitable with limitations – color contributes to visual organization, but we recommend combining color coding with logical content layout for greater clarity.
