It is important to know

The HP Poly Voyager Surround 80 UC is a headset that is best suited for users who make a lot of calls or work on various devices, often in a louder environment. If comfort is important to you for long conversations or work and you expect reliable connectivity, such over-ear wireless headphones are a sensible choice. Before buying, it is worth considering the practical consequences of this design and whether your use pattern is compatible with the solutions offered by this model.

• The over-ear design with ANC provides strong isolation from the environment, which is an advantage for those who need to focus or work in noisy environments, but at the same time it limits the perception of the surroundings, which may not be optimal in all situations (for example, on the road or at home with the family).
• A high-quality microphone and multiple microphones allow for better noise filtering during calls, but the filtering logic is primarily geared towards business use and not so much towards advanced music or podcast recording.
• Wireless connectivity makes everyday use on multiple devices easier, but on such models it is recommended to check in advance which platforms support the Teams certification or whether your application is compatible with additional features.
• Materials and fit are key for long-term wear – over-ear models are less compact to carry than, for example, TWS or on-ear headphones, which requires some adjustments when traveling and storing.

In practice

💻 Work and video calls

🟢 Great for long calls, Teams meetings, and use in the office or from home. The microphone and sound quality improve the experience on both sides.

🚌 Travel and noisy environments

🟢 ANC and over-ear design effectively reduce external noise, making it easy to use on public transport or in open offices.

📱 Phone calls

🟢 Optimized for clear phone conversations and mobile use, especially where good isolation, a stable connection, and a quality microphone are important.

🎧 Home use

🟡 Very comfortable for listening to music or watching content, but due to the strong isolation, less suitable if you also want to hear what's happening around you (e.g. children or the doorbell).

🎮 Gaming

🟡 Suitable for occasional gaming and voice communication, but without dedicated support for ultra-low latency, which is important for competitive gaming.

Answers to frequently asked questions

Can I connect the headphones to my computer and phone at the same time?

Yes, multipoint connection is supported, allowing you to quickly switch between multiple devices without manually reconnecting.

How does the active noise cancellation (ANC) work on these headphones?

ANC is designed to silence external noise in the office or on the go, but it's not completely effective against very harsh or unusual sounds.

Is a Teams certificate necessary for normal use on other platforms?

No. Teams certification provides better integration with the Teams app, but the headset also works seamlessly with other apps and devices.

Are these headphones suitable for everyday wear outside?

Due to their size and shape, they are more suitable for home, office or travel, but are not optimal for sports or outdoor activities.

How important is proper fit with this model?

Proper fit is key for comfort and optimal ANC performance. If the headphones are not fitted correctly, the isolation effect may be impaired.
