Same summary

The DeWalt DCV517N cordless vacuum cleaner is a convenient choice for quick and efficient cleaning of smaller workshops, garages or cars where mobility is important. The lack of a battery included allows flexibility for those who already use 18V DeWalt batteries and want to take advantage of existing equipment. Due to the configuration of a handheld vacuum cleaner, it is more suitable for on-the-go cleaning or cleaning of hard-to-reach spots, and less suitable for intensive and long-term cleaning of large work surfaces. It is important to note that the vacuum cleaner is intended for users who have compatible batteries, otherwise additional costs or interruptions to work may be a limitation.

Answers to frequently asked questions

Can I use any 18V DeWalt battery with this vacuum cleaner?

This model is compatible with all DeWalt 18V XR batteries, so you can use your existing batteries from other DeWalt devices.

Is the vacuum cleaner also suitable for wet vacuuming?

The vacuum cleaner is intended primarily for dry vacuuming of small debris and dust in workshops or garages. Before using for wet cleaning, we recommend checking the manufacturer's instructions for safety and compatibility.

How long does it take to clean on a single full battery?

The operating time depends on the capacity of the battery used and the intensity of use. Typically, users with an 18V 2.0 Ah battery achieve enough autonomy for typical daily cleaning, but with a higher capacity it lasts longer.

What should I do if I don't have the included battery?

If you do not yet have an 18V DeWalt battery, we recommend purchasing the appropriate battery and charger so that you can use the vacuum cleaner without any problems immediately after receiving it.

Is the vacuum cleaner suitable for more demanding use in larger workshops?

Its compact, handheld design makes it most useful for spot cleaning or smaller work areas. For regular cleaning of large areas, a larger workshop vacuum version may be more suitable.
