    Clairefontaine block Pastelmat n°1 24 x 30 cm

Drawing and sketching Suitable for businesses and workshops

The universal drawing pad is designed for creating sketches, illustrations or plans in a business environment and in workshops with multiple users.

    • It facilitates the preparation of visual presentations, projects and prototypes.
    • A stable base for various drawing and painting techniques.
    • A standardized format ensures repeatable results in group work.
    • Suitable for quick validation of ideas and project drafts.

The 24 x 30 cm Pastelmat pad contains 12 sheets of high-quality 360 g/m2 paper, specially designed for pastel techniques. Its unique surface provides excellent adhesion to pastels, reduces the need for fixing and allows multiple layers to be applied without saturating the paper. Set N°1 includes sheets in four different colors: white, sand, gray and brown. The paper is glued on one side, which allows for easy removal of the sheets without damage. It is ideal for dry pastel, pencil, charcoal and other dry techniques.

    It is important to know

Before choosing a Pastelmat n°1 drawing pad, it is crucial to consider whether the paper and format are suitable for your technique and the scope of your work. For maximum effect, it is best to clearly define your intended use – sketching, painting or presentation – as differences in structure and sheet size can be noticeable in larger projects or team work. Pay particular attention to the actual versatility versus the need to specialize the paper for specific techniques.

    • When planning larger or group projects, it is important to assess whether the number and size of sheets will meet the needs of all users.
    • The structure and weight of the paper may allow the use of different media, but it is advisable to check whether the paper really suits your most common techniques (e.g. powder pastels vs. watercolor or ink).
    • If you're looking for a universal material for creative workshops or prototyping, pay attention to the balance between versatility and specialization - more purposefully selected blocks often better support a specific task.

    In practice

    🟢 Technical drawing and sketching

A drawing pad with marked capacity allows for precise sketching and project drafting when you need a harder, more structured paper.

    🟢 Art and illustration

The block is very suitable for various art techniques where the quality and durability of the paper is important - especially when creating detailed work with dry or powdered paints.

    🟡 Visual presentations and collages

It is possible to prepare basic presentation materials or collages, but the number of sheets can quickly run out when used in series or with larger groups.

    🟡 Creative workshops and groups

A block may provide enough material for small groups or one-off workshops, but more extensive sharing may require supplementing with more pieces or additional formats.

🟢 Prototyping and validation of ideas

Due to the quality of the paper, the pad is also suitable for quick visualization of concepts in a business or project-development environment.

    Answers to frequently asked questions

Are the individual sheets easily torn out of the pad?

The sheets are bound in a way that allows for easy removal without damaging the edges, which is practical when archiving or sharing works.

Is the paper also suitable for use with markers or felt-tip pens?

The structure and grammage allow the use of markers, but with very intensive applications, breakthrough may occur - we recommend a test on a sample sheet.

Is 12 sheets enough for typical workshops or presentations?

For small groups or individual work, it is sufficient, but for serial presentations or workshops with multiple participants, it makes sense to plan for more blocks.

Does the paper retain colors well over time?

High-quality paper with a high grammage usually provides good color fastness, which is important for long-term archiving of works.
