    Clairefontaine Cardinal pad, 30x40 cm, 10 sheets, 300 g

Suitable for technical drawing A reliable choice for sketches and drafts Useful for business projects

The drawing pad with smooth paper is intended for professionals and companies for preparing plans, sketches or artistic presentations in the work environment.

    • It facilitates precise sketching and visual presentation of projects.
    • Large enough format for various types of drawings and plans.
    • A stable and high-quality foundation for consistent results.
    • Suitable for workshops, presentations or prototyping.

The Cardinal block with natural white paper offers a different paper grain on each side of the sheet. It is perfect for those who want to start painting with watercolors; as well as those who hesitate between the Fontaine or Etival block assortments, or between cold pressed and coarse grain paper. The block is glued at the top and contains 10 pages of 300 g paper and is 30 x 40 cm in size.

    It is important to know

When choosing a drawing pad for business use, it is crucial to understand how well the product supports repeatability, presentation needs, and the demands of different techniques. It is especially important to assess whether the format, number of sheets, and paper type match the intended use and the scope of creative or design processes in your company.

    • The dimensions and grammage of the block allow it to be used for more demanding presentation and technical drawings, but it is necessary to check whether the volume (number of sheets) is sufficient in the case of larger teams or frequent use.
    • The thickness and surface of the paper reduces the risk of ink absorption or bleeding, which is important when using markers, felt-tip pens or colored pencils – although it is not a replacement for specialized substrates for very wet techniques.
    • A predetermined number of sheets in a pad means limited opportunity for errors or multiple iterations, so for group or longer projects we recommend considering the necessary stock.

    In practice

    🟢 Technical drawing and sketching

Due to its format and paper quality, the drawing pad is well suited to the needs of technical drawing, project sketching, and preparing visual drafts for business presentations.

    🟡 Visual presentations and prototyping

Suitable for quick idea presentation and basic prototyping, but due to the limited number of sheets, the effect is optimal for individual or less extensive use, and less so for mass workshops.

🟡 Use with various techniques (paints, markers, pencils)

The paper supports better color transfer and most basic techniques, but with specific wet techniques or multiple applications of pigment, possible limitations in durability and appearance must be considered.

🔴 Group creation on one surface or finishing larger quantities

A limited number of sheets is not best suited for larger groups or multiple testing of ideas over longer project phases.

    Answers to frequently asked questions

Is the pad suitable for markers and felt-tip pens?

The quality and weight of the paper allow the use of markers, but it is recommended to test the selected shades or amount of application.

How resistant is the paper to soaking or waving when applying more paint?

A certain thickness reduces the possibility of curling or shedding during normal use, but caution is advised for particularly intense color techniques.

Is the block also suitable for detailed technical drawings and plans?

The surface and size enable high-quality technical drawing, especially for freehand sketches, plans and illustrations in project documents.

How many users or projects is a block usually sufficient for?

A 10-sheet pad is generally suitable for individual use or a small number of project sketches; for larger teams or ongoing projects, it makes sense to stock up on several pads.
