The 3-piece Bosch HSS Ø 4–30 mm step drill bit set is designed for reliable drilling in metal and plastic. The set is designed for users who often need to drill different hole diameters without changing tools — practical for DIYers, repairmen or professionals in the workshop. The non-slip shaft allows for secure clamping in the drill, which reduces the possibility of slipping and facilitates precise work even when drilling holes of different dimensions in succession.

The drill bits in this set offer great flexibility, as each individual drill bit has a stepped shape that allows you to drill multiple hole diameters with a single bit. This means you will need to change drill bits less often, which speeds up your work, especially when working with materials such as sheet metal, thin profiles or various plastics. The high-speed steel (HSS) design means they are suitable for long-term use without rapid wear or loss of sharpness.

The compact length of the drills makes it easier to work in confined or difficult-to-reach spaces. Each individual diameter is clearly marked on the drill, which simplifies control of drilling depth and ensures equivalent results in different places. The reduced risk of getting stuck in the material when changing between stages contributes to easier and cleaner drilling without additional hole processing.

The stepped shape of the drills allows for smooth transitions between individual diameters with minimal effort. In addition, the markings on the drill steps help ensure a precise result, which is especially practical when making identical holes in series. The non-slip shaft contributes to better control of the tool by preventing it from rotating in the chuck — this increases safety and reliability in everyday use.

Due to the high-quality HSS material, they are suitable for drilling into harder metal and more resistant plastic, so you can use them for various projects at home, in the garage or during field installation. The set offers an economical way to cover a wide range of needs in the sheet metal and plastic processing segment with a minimum number of attachments.

It is important to know

The Bosch HSS 3-Step Drill Bit Set Ø 4–30 mm is intended primarily for users who need flexibility when drilling holes of various diameters in metal and plastic. The greatest value of the set lies in the flexibility of diameter selection, but before purchasing, it is worth considering the frequency and type of use compared to individual, more specialized drill bits.

• The set is particularly suitable for occasional or hobby use, where there is no constant need for just one precisely defined hole diameter.
• It is practical to be able to cover several different dimensions with one drill bit, which reduces the need to change tools – but it may not achieve the same precision as dedicated individual drill bits.
• The stepped design allows for quick adjustment to the desired diameter while working, but has limitations in very frequent or repetitive professional use.
• The kit is not suitable for materials such as stone or concrete, as it is optimized for metal and plastic.

In practice

🟢 Drilling holes of various sizes in metal and plastic

The kit allows for quick and easy diameter adjustment, making it very suitable for users who often need several different hole sizes in these materials.

🟡 Combined DIY tasks at home

Suitable with limitations – the kit is easy to use for occasional home projects, but may prove less than optimal for repetitive tasks with the same diameter or with non-standard materials.

🔴 Continuous professional use for one specific task

Less suitable – if you drill the same holes frequently and every day, using one purpose-made drill bit is usually a more accurate and durable solution.

Answers to frequently asked questions

Is the kit also suitable for drilling into wood?

The set is optimized primarily for metal and plastic, but for special requirements in wood, it is recommended to use dedicated wood drill bits.

Do the drill bits fit the standard clamping system of electric drills?

The drill bits have a non-slip shaft that is designed to provide a good grip in most common electric drill chucks.

Can I drill holes of different diameters with the set without changing drill bits?

Yes, each step drill bit allows you to drill multiple hole sizes with just one drill bit, as you determine the diameter by the drilling depth.
