The Ansmann CL270B cordless flashlight is a portable flashlight designed for outdoor use, camping, hiking, gardening or in the workshop, where reliable lighting is essential even without access to an electrical outlet. The flashlight runs on three standard AA batteries, which allows it to be used anywhere, as it does not require special batteries or chargers to operate. With an output of 270 lumens, it allows for a variety of uses - from basic functional lighting in a tent to illuminating the surroundings or working in poor light conditions.

In practical use, the possibility of setting three brightness levels stands out, which allows you to adjust the intensity according to current needs or extend the battery life. At the lowest level, the brightness extends continuous operation up to 36 hours, which is especially useful for multi-day trips without the possibility of changing batteries. The beam range of up to 22 meters ensures safe movement and good visibility of the surroundings in the dark.

Key product features

⚖️ Compare features with other products of your choice

Three different brightness modes allow the lamp to adapt to different situations: a stronger light is suitable for use outdoors or in the event of a power outage, while a softer light is useful in a tent, when reading or working at short distances, where too much light is not desired. The easy way to switch between levels makes it easy to use even with gloves or in the dark.

Powered by three AA batteries, they can be easily swapped out anywhere in the world, making them practical for travel or extended use in the field. The compact size and thoughtful design make the flashlight easy to carry, while the green housing allows for better visibility among equipment.

The stable stand and shaped handle allow the lamp to be placed on various surfaces or hung in a tent, on a branch or bracket. This makes the lamp useful not only as a handheld light source, but also as a fixed room light, which further increases its versatility in practice.

It is important to know

Before choosing a rechargeable flashlight, it is crucial to understand how the power supply, design and light output will affect everyday use. The greatest value of this flashlight lies in its stable autonomy and easy replacement of conventional batteries, but there are compromises in terms of light intensity and range. Users should carefully evaluate whether the flashlight meets practical requirements in terms of weather, battery type and frequency of use.

• Powering with classic AA batteries allows for immediate use and easy replacement, but depends on a regular supply of new or charged batteries.
• Low voltage and medium brightness mean that this model is more suitable for basic lighting of smaller areas than for intensive work or lighting larger areas.
• The three brightness modes are handy for adjusting battery consumption and runtime, but the maximum brightness doesn't go beyond the range some users may need for more demanding tasks.
• Since batteries are not always included, you should check when purchasing whether you already have them, otherwise you will have to count on an additional cost or a visit to the store.

In practice

🟢 Basic portable lighting for the house, garden and camping

The flashlight stands out as a practical choice for occasional use in a tent, in the garden, or during a power outage, as the AA batteries allow for quick replacement and immediate use.

🟡 Suitable with limitations – working outdoors with more demanding lighting

It is sufficient for basic outdoor tasks, but the limited brightness and range mean that it is not optimal for illuminating larger areas or intensive service work at night.

🟡 Suitable with restrictions – repairs where you need both hands free

The lamp can be positioned to shine independently, but it is not a head-mounted model – it might be less practical for completely hands-free and focused work.

🟢 Backup light source in case of power outage

Because it uses standard AA batteries, it is very convenient to store at home or in the car as a reliable backup when the power goes out.

🔴 Less suitable – complementing an existing cordless tool system of the same brand

The model is not compatible with advanced battery systems, so it is not a sensible choice for users looking to upgrade their collection of battery tools from the same brand.
